First-Saturday Secret: Free Kids Building Kits, Adaptive Harvest Fests & $10 Youth Cooking Classes
From Home Depot's wooden Dump Truck build on November 7 to Rancho Cucamonga's inclusive IncredABLES club and San Bernardino's after-school culinary labs.
- Home Depot's First-Saturday Kids Workshop (Nov 7: Wooden Dump Truck) runs 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, but kits are distributed while supplies last—arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM for the calmest table space.
- Beware of aggregator '9:00 AM' timestamps on weekday city classes: San Bernardino's 'Kids 'n the Kitchen' (Verdemont CC) and 'Kids Master Chef' (Hernandez CC) actually run after school on Wednesdays from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM ($10, pre-registration required).
- Friday, November 6 has three back-to-back family nights: IncredABLES Adaptive Harvest Fest in Rancho Cucamonga (5:30–7:30 PM), Ontario Family Nights at Veterans Memorial Park (6:00–8:00 PM, Free), and Family Friday Art Night at Pomona's dA Center for the Arts (6:00–8:00 PM, Free).
1. Home Depot First-Saturday Kids Workshop: Wooden Dump Truck (Saturday, Nov 7)
On the first Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, participating Home Depot stores set up kid-sized workbenches with wood glue, child-safe hammers, and acrylic paints.
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, kids ages 5–12 build a rolling wooden Dump Truck—and every young builder receives a free orange kids apron, a certificate of achievement, and a collectible workshop pin to clip onto their apron.
The Rancho Cucamonga Home Depot (10570 Foothill Blvd, 91730) as well as Ontario, Upland, Chino, Corona, and Riverside stores all host the 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM First-Saturday build.
2. Inclusive & Adaptive Fun: IncredABLES Harvest Fest at Central Park (Friday, Nov 6)
The City of Rancho Cucamonga's IncredABLES program is designed specifically as a welcoming, sensory-considerate, and inclusive community space for participants ages 8+ with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families.
On Friday, November 6 (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM) at Central Park's Rancho Cucamonga Hall (11200 Base Line Rd), the Friday Night Fun Club hosts 'Harvest Fest' ($10 pre-registration) with cozy Thanksgiving crafts, hands-on activity stations, and light refreshments.
3. Free Friday Family Nights in Ontario & Downtown Pomona (Friday, Nov 6)
Two completely free Friday-evening family traditions take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on November 6:
• City of Ontario Family Nights at Veterans Memorial Park & Community Center (1259 E. D St, Ontario): Free family movie screening, interactive trivia, kids crafts, and complimentary snacks.
• Family Friday Art Night at The dA Center for the Arts (252 S. Main St, Pomona): Hosted with PUSD, featuring hands-on visual art stations, DJ music, and free refreshments for Pre-K through 12th grade families.
