84-acre indoor-outdoor science park in the Research Triangle (open Tuesday through Sunday; closed Mondays). Kids climb two-story interconnected wooden treehouses and wade in a natural stream at Hideaway Woods, ride the Ellerbe Creek Railway miniature train, dig for fossils on the Dinosaur Trail, and walk inside the Magic Wings Butterfly House.
